Club news and events
Work has started on the Sports Precinct CarParking, which will make our Club more visible and accessible. You can now enter via Pearson Street and park in the Sports Carpark. We will be getting a new entrance !
Our Coach, Lowen Clarke has just become a Level 3 Coach, the first in croquet for many years. He was awarded his Accreditation by ACA President Max Murray at the Interstate Dinner.
The Wombats are playing in Shanghai China in September at the World Gateball Championships.
Brunswick Malletsports Club has had some great successes over the past while, and many of the members have gained places in prestigious teams and contributed to good performances. In 2009, The State Team in Golf Croquet included members Sue Leitinger, Wendy Dickson, and Kevin Beard. Wendy and Sue were also chosen to play in the World Womens Golf Croquet Championships held earlier this year. Lowen Clarke and Adrian Masterman-Smith won the Victorian Golf Croquet Doubles Championships. The Wombats Gateball team were Runners Up in the Australian Gateball Championships in Rockhampton and were winners in the NSW Gateball Championships in Canberra. The Wombats are also the Victorian Gateball Champions. For 2010, the State Team in Traditional (Association) Croquet included members, Sue Leitinger, Wendy Dickson, and Kevin Beard. The Club is proud of its players.
Kevin Beard has been in the Australian Team to represent Australia at the Mac Rob World Event in the U.K.
In 2008, our coach, Lowen Clarke, coached the State Team to a win in the Interstate Cup in Traditional (Assocation) Croquet. (see photo, left, middle) |
